Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency is our site of the day
The Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency--DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Established in 1995, the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency is an ongoing project of the North Carolina Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
At this site, you can click on the map of any state to see what the incentives are that are offered in that state for various kinds of energy savings and to promote alternative forms of energy.
Clicking on the California map, you will find green building incentives in different cities and counties, local grant programs, local solar loan programs, California and utility rebate programs, tax exemptions, local solar access laws and guidelines, and all sorts of useful information. This list is hyperlinked and is very useful. There are literally hundreds of these lists.
In this age of high energy prices and the need to reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources that cause global warming and pollute our environment, this is a very useful site.
Hat tip to Bob Morris of Politics in the Zeros for this find.
