The Budget Crisis Report Card from the California Department of Education is our site of the day
The California Department of Education has created a web page called the "Budget Crisis Report Card" to keep up with “the growing public interest and media inquiries about the effects of potential budget cuts on public schools.”
This hub of information has three main sections:
• Links to specific topics like teacher layoffs, and the affect of the budget crisis on teacher education programs and schools in specific California regions.
• Data from the field and news reports on school budget cuts by county, then school district.
• State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell's news releases about the budget cuts in reverse chronological order.
Check this site out and return as the news continues on this important budget story.
