The California Democratic Party Convention Video on Demand is our site of the day

The California Democratic Party Convention met in San Jose from Friday through Sunday. With Video on Demand (at no charge), you can now watch the convention and get to see and hear Democratic candidates for Governor and other state offices in 2010 speak, and see what Democrats are up to in California.

If you like C-SPAN or if you are curious about California public policy and politics, this is a site to visit and to bookmark. But it’s not just speeches, and it’s not just elected officials you will be able to hear from. There are videos and presentations by rank and file grassroots Democrats—and more.

So far, Saturday’s morning and afternoon sessions have been loaded up—and no doubt soon the speeches for Obama by San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris and for Hillary Clinton by former President Clinton will be up and able to be watched in full.

Also up on the site is the presentation on Friday of a panel led by Christine Pelosi, daughter of the Speaker of the House and a powerhouse in her own right, called “Campaign Boot Camp.” This is a nuts and bolts guide to how to influence elections by working on campaigns.

You can also see the Youth Vote Panel and the future of the California Democratic Party—which played itself out in the February Presidential Primary with a record turnout and will have reverberations in June and November.

Even if you attended the CDP convention in person, this site is one that rewards. With multiple events at the same time and a lengthy schedule, you can catch up on that speech you missed, or listen to it again uninterrupted.

Tucked away in the video of Saturday morning’s session starting at 2 hours and 10 minutes of the feed is an especially interesting discussion on immigration by a panel.

Don’t just rely on the snippets from the media. See and hear it directly. And share it with others.
